Ice Dams
by on Oct.31, 2009, under Uncategorized
An ice dam is a common problem of maintaining a building properly during winters in cold climate areas. This article explains what are ice dams, how do they occur, what can be done to prevent them and how to deal with them as they occur.
Ice dams happen when snow builds up on the roof of a structure with poor insulation and poor attic ventilation. Ice dams often cause leaky roof, stains and cracks in plaster or drywall, and other water damages.
The Causes of Ice Dams
Ice formed at the transition from a warm to a cold roof surface. Typically formed at the over hang (eave). Snow melts down from the warm area of the roof, over attic space, to the eave where the temperature is the same as the ambiant temperature, where it freezes. For ice dams to occur there must be snow or ice on the roof, and, at the same time, higher portions of the roof’s external surface must be above 32° F while lower surfaces are below 32°F.
How to Avoid Ice Dams
Ice dams can be avoided by proper maintenance and insulation. Heat loss from a building must be well controlled by checking the insulation periodically and confirming that it is properly laid out and not damaged. If wet, insulation must be dried out immediately and in some, more extensive cases, completely replaced
How to Handle Ice Dams When they Occur
First Aid
First Aid is required if an ice dam creates immediate problems such as water in the building or any other type of water damage. In this case, remove as much excess snow from your roof as possible. By doing so you will eliminate the cause of the ice dams.
You will have to create channels through the ice dam to allow water behind the dam to drain off the roof. Try running tap or warmer water into the drain to melt down the ice.
Preventative Measures
For longer lasting solutions, increase the roof insulation on both sides to reduce heat loss. Tighten up the ceiling air so no warm air can flow from the house into the attic space. This solution may create a structural stability problem due to increased loads on the roof so be sure to consult with an engineer.

* If the water is cloudy then it is not safe to swim, swimmers cannot see the bottom and might dive into shallow water!
* Bathers in difficulty under the water will not be seen!

Sanitation is the priority reason for using pool chemicals. If not treated, a swimming pool can become a breeding ground for bacteria and algae. The algae will damage the pool but the bacteria can make you sick!

You should soon tell when this is necessary because the water will appear , you can use clarifiers and flocculents to solve this.
When testing your pool, watch the ph levels. This determines the acidity in your pool. The balance needs to be kept steady to enable the Chlorine to work effectively. After that, an effective pool filtration system will help you to keep your water clean and sanitary. Which is the key to an enjoyable swim every time!

Get Higher Rankings With These SEO Tips
by on Oct.29, 2009, under Uncategorized
For the Average person, SE Optimization is something only highly skilled people can do. As a Guaranteed SEO in Houston, I believe part of this misunderstanding is because of all the B.S. flogged by scores of people calling their self SEO experts. Some do this because they don’t have a clue about SEO while some others do it to justify the ongoing fees they charge their Clients. SE Optimization isn’t brain surgery folks. It’s a systematic series of procedures that if done properly, will cause a Website to move up in the rankings.
You want to get off to a good start. To begin with, a person should make certain keywords are part of the URL if it’s possible. When all things are equal, a web page with keywords in the address will rank higher than one without the keywords included in the domain name.
Now that you have that done, the keyword or keyword phrase should be added in the Name of your Website. By doing this, you’re helping the search engines figure out what it is that you Website is all about.
Your keywords should also be used as the Title of each page also, or at least, you should use some keywords in the title of the page or article. This too helps the search engines determine what the subject of the page is, what it’s about and how relevant it is to the search term being searched for. As an added benefit, the Website or Blog should be designed so that the Page Title is in the H1 tag. Search engines give a lot of value to the H1 tag and so it’s important in good SEO practices. If you’re using a web design company company, make certain they know how to do this one little thing.
Now that you have your domain, Website Title (Name) and Page Titles optimized with your keywords, it’s important that the words you wish your website to rank higher for show up a few times in the content of the page. For best results, you should place the main keyword of the page somewhere in the first paragraph and several more times througout the article depending on the length. It’s also important to put it near the end of the page or article. A few more times between the first and last paragraph won’t hurt, just be sure you work them in the beginning and end.
Last up, the most important aspect of Website Search Engine Optimization actually takes place off the page. In fact, it takes place off the site altogether. In my opinion, the most important thing in in getting a higher ranking in Google is backlinks leading back to your page on your Website. And it’s not enough to just get backlinks, these backlinks need to have your keywords as the Anchor text of the links back to your site.
How important are backward links? Well, I can rank a website that doesn’t have the keywords in the domain, one that doesn’t have keywords in the Website Title, Page Title and in the Content (although it’s much, much harder to do), but without anchored links back to your site leading back to your site, {it is nearly impossible} to rank a site in Google for any search phrases that are the least bit in demand.
Article Marketing Plan: Create One Using These Steps

Article Video Robot: Turn your articles into video for just 0.97 cents!
Key Steps To your website traffic future
If you are interested in getting free search engine website traffic than you need to take a look at article marketing. The key is having a solid article marketing plan. You need to set a goal of writing and submitting at least one article per week to have any impact on your website traffic. You must follow through and stick to your guns and make sure you publish the number articles you have set in your plan for each month.
My article marketing plan calls for to write and submit 1 article per week for my fishing site, now some weeks I write more, but never less than 1 per week. You are probably thinking why only one article a week , why write and submit dozens of articles a week? Well you need to understand you are building a foundation for your business so quality of your articles is key to building a on-line respectability. Remember your goal to be recognized as a expert in your Selected niche market.
Article marketing is not a quick hit traffic generator, This process takes time and your website traffic increases will be over time. There are some ways to jump start your efforts by automation but you need to learn the basics before using these tools. There are no guarantees on how much website traffic you will receive but I can guarantee that the traffic you do receive will be highly targeted and that is best kind of website traffic you can receive. Just for example I have been using my article marketing plan for approximately two years now. My plan has been very successful and I have doubled my sales through my fishing site over this time.
Now let’s get to the meat of my article and look at key steps that are needed to make your article marketing efforts successful.
#1 Like I said in my opening paragraphs above you need to identify your “niche” market to be successful with your efforts. The more specific you can be with your article marketing plan the more success you will have. You will build your whole plan based on what you choose in this step, that is why I have Identified it as #1.
#2 Create a keyword , keyword phrase list of at least 50 keyword phrases. These words need to be associated with the “niche” market you have chosen. {I do not recommend you start out targeting single keywords, select keyword phrases about your niche that are two and three words in length. Concentrate on using keyword phrases that are two and three words in length.} To be honest with you I have never done very well with single keywords in my articles. It has been my experience that single keywords do not score high for me on the search engines. To develop your keyword phrase list go to Google Adwords and use their free keyword tool. It is an excellent marketing tool. Just enter a single keyword that is specific to your niche and the Adwords system will generate a keyword phrase list of two, three and more words. Concentrate on using the two and three word phrases for your article marketing efforts.
#3 Now you are ready to start writing articles! What I do in my writing is just start writing what comes to mind that is pertinent to the niche I have selected. If you have to do any research do it before you start writing. This is also an excellent way to help with your articles structure. Start out writing by inserting your two and three word phrases as you go. When you are writing your articles make sure that you do not repeat your keyword phrase but every 100 words. For example, if I were going to write an article that included “crappie fishing” in my first paragraph , then I could not repeat this phrase for 100 words. There are ways to mix your phrases up to get the same ranking without duplicating your phrases; example instead of using “article automation” you could use “automate articles” and not be penalized by the search engines for excessive keywords. Remember concentrate on the quality of your article when inserting keyword phrase. It’s important that you get the attention of the reader.
#4 Create a list of article directories to submit your article too. All article directories are not created equal so I suggest you use the following simple steps list the sites you want to submit to in a priority by Google ranking sequence. To get a listing of directories just do a search using the key word “article directory” as your search term. You will get a list of thousands of sites. There are two sites you must put on your list right now and they are ezinearticles.com and searchwarp.com. I use a free Google ranking tool that is simple to use to locate each sites ranking. Type in the following keyword phrase “website ranking tools for Google” at Google’s search box to find a free ranking tool suitable for you, or just e-mail me and I send the link I use. Just a note when developing a list use sites with rankings of 6,5,4,3 first, these sites will get you some traffic over time.
Well folks that should do it! Good luck with your article marketing efforts may success come your way!

Who wants to Know How to Optimize Your Pages for Search Engines?
by on Oct.27, 2009, under Uncategorized
There are a number of steps I always follow when optimizing a site for SEO (note these are just the high points, there are others that I don’t mention here, but these WILL take you a long way):
1) For a new site, I will include the keywords in a non hyphenated domain name (if you can get a .edu or .gov TLD snap it up, otherwise a cheap .info will be ok)
2) If possible, I will rename the URL to each important page to include the main keyword for that page.
3) Implement Google Analytics for the site and ensure the tracking script is added to every page (if not already done).
4) Go through the “money” pages and make sure that the title, descriptions and keywords meta tags are unique and optimized for the keywords on the page. In a competitive niche (over 1 million result pages in Google), I would limit the keywords to one main phrase, a couple of local modifiers and one or two more closely related terms per page.
5) Go through the non-money pages (i.e. pages that are irrelevant from an SEO perspective) and ensure the title and meta description tags are not duplicates of any of the money page tags. Google Webmaster tools will identify this for you once your site has been registered and crawled.
6) I also nofollow any links to overhead pages from all of the pages on the site with the exception of the home page. I leave the home page links as follow links, since I want the SEs to index all pages on the site and having privacy, contact, disclaimer, etc pages add to Google’s view of the “trust” for the site. On all other pages I want only the link to the home page to be a follow link, so I can build up the page rank of the home page. I handle this in Dreamweaver by using two different site templates. If your main keyword page is something other than the home page, modify your approach accordingly.
7) I then optimize each page’s content for it’s main keywords, modifiers and related terms. It’s important that each word or phrase used in the keyword META is found somewhere on the page to avoid keyword spam issues.
At this point the on page optimization is complete enough to start with link building. As you may already know, building links is not a piece of cake. I use articles, blog posts, submit forms on relevant sites, reciprocal links, etc. There are ways to short cut this process, without going black or grey hat. Solar Hot Water Panels For Sale: Reason To Select New Or Used
by on Oct.26, 2009, under Uncategorized
Whether it is solar electric panels for sale, solar hot water panels for sale or any other type, then there is one big decision in particular that you are going to have to make, and that is whether you want to get your solar hot water panels for sale new or used. There are of course pros and cons to both choices here, and it is important to take all into careful consideration so that you can make the best decision here.
New or Used Solar Hot Water Panels for Sale?
When you first get out there and start looking at the solar hot water panels for sale, you are probably going to be a little surprised at how expensive some of these panels can be. But you should realize that although it may seem a bit costly initially, the pieces that you buy are going to more than pay themselves off, even within the first few months of use.
Therefore it is going to be far more worth it to spend this money at first knowing that you are going to get to stop paying an electric bill every month and that you can use these solar hot water panels for sale and start relying on solar power from now on.
Another major issue that you are going to want to think about when trying to decide whether to get new or used solar hot water panels for sale then is the price. The used solar panel costs are just a fraction of what they would new, and so you can get great savings this way.
However if you were to buy the panels new, you know automatically that they are in mint condition and that you are not going to have to worry about any wear and tear that has been put on the panels. The used panels should be able to get you the most energy from the sun and increase the use of your solar energy system.
Checking out the panels for their good working condition is necessary for buying the used solar panels. Just make sure that you check them out firsthand to see what sort of condition they are in before agreeing to buy. One can buy both type of solar panels which he wants to use.
Water Damage – Hidden Causes
by on Oct.25, 2009, under Uncategorized
If you want to prevent water damage in your home or office, you must first learn where to look for and what are the different causes of this kind of damage. This article covers the invisible causes of water damage, those that are a little harder to detect by simple do-it-yourself inspections. There is additional material about the visible causes of water damage that you need to read in order to fully understand the subject. A good understanding of the subject will not only provide you with great techniques to prevent water damage but also will help you save money and will keep your house in good shape, preserving its value for many years. While you can control some of the causes for damage, others cannot be predicted and therefore cannot be prevented.
Plumbing:
Plumbing equipment usually develops leaks due failures in joints or hose attachment.
Internal wall leaks are even harder to discover and can cause major damage.
Pipes
The common problems in pipes are blocked toilets and drains (especially kitchen drains), failure of garbage disposals, and roots in sewer lines .
Weather:
Unpredictable summer storms, floods, and other water accompanied disasters such as hurricanes, blizzards, and tornados are some more reasons for water damage.
Heating Systems and Air Conditions:
Neglecting air conditioners leads to poor performance, expensive operating costs and moisture issues. Moist cooling ducts promote mold and other water-borne bacteria.
Appliances:
Water heaters, washers, and dryers tend to crack over time, allowing water to trickle. Although these appliances will start leaking slowly, this leak can grow and cause a flood when completely failed. Hoses tend to deteriorate inside out, resulting in leaks as well.
Basements:
A wet basement is caused by moisture accumulations that drip through the foundations. When moisture evaporates, it increases humidity even if there are no leaks or standing water. Another common cause is condensation on the cold concrete walls and floors during more humid time periods.
It is recommended to inspect your home periodically to ensure that it stays in good condition and keeps its real market value. A periodic inspection will also help preventing high-costs restoration projects after water related disasters.
Some Advantages of Outside Solar Lantern Lights
by on Oct.24, 2009, under Uncategorized
Solar powered garden lights are examples of lantern lights that are becoming ever more widespread as they are uncomplicated to fit and will not cost you anything to run. There are a wide range of solar lantern lights to select from including lantern lights, pathway lights, globe style lights, hanging lights and solar lights made in the shape of flowers. Several come with a stake to effortlessly plant in the ground. They all have rechargeable batteries which utilize solar energy collected throughout the hours of the day to charge them and they generally switch on automatically at twilight.
Some Advantages of Solar Garden Lighting
Solar garden lighting do not require any wiring so there are no straggling wires that can be a risk to kids and animals or that require extensive burying underneath the ground. They are extremely simple to set up, simply plant the stake in the earth, or hang them up from an appropriate tree or post. You can set them to turn on automatically at sunset, and they do not use any electricity so they are extremely cheap to use once in place.
Disadvantages of Solar Garden Lights
The major drawback of solar garden lights are the rechargeable batteries which often are not able to gather sufficient energy to last through the hours of darkness and have to be replaced every few years. In addition they have only a very minute area of solar panels that can only gather a small quantity of light. The power stored gives only a small number of hours of light which tends to decline as the batteries get older. However if all you really need is lighting for the evening they will doubtless be adequate. The advantage, that they need no wiring or complicated putting in, turns into a drawback, as what is effortlessly put in place can be just as easily removed. This makes them vulnerable to pilfering unless you fix them in position as you would do with a conventional light.
They utilize energy from the sun so they need a certain amount of sunlight to recharge the batteries. They cannot consequently be used in shaded places, or on walls that are in the shadow for part of the day. They only work really efficiently when there’s a lot of sunshine so can perform poorly during the winter.
Are Solar Garden Lights Environmentally Friendly?
In some ways! They do not use any electricity, consequently there is no impact on the environment there. They do however use batteries that are rechargeable which need to be replaced and disposed of. However we can conclude that they are undoubtedly more environmentally friendly than wired lights.
Conclusion
If you need lights for only a small number of hours in the evening in a part of the backyard that is in full sunshine during the daylight hours, solar garden lighting would be appropriate. Be ready to replace the batteries every couple of years and if you believe your garden is vulnerable enough for theft to be a problem you may want to install them in place more firmly than usual.
Family Saunas – How To Choose The Right One
by on Oct.23, 2009, under Uncategorized
A family sauna is such a great place for bonding and for relaxation. It’s no wonder that more and more families are installing saunas in their home.
Buying the right sauna requires knowing a few things first…
First of all, do you want a traditional sauna or an infrared sauna? If you’re not sure about the difference, this is something you want to know before you purchase a family sauna kit.
Here are some other important things you’ll need to know to make the right choice…
What Size Do You Need?
This one is pretty obvious… Before you buy a family sauna kit, you need to know how many people your sauna needs to be able to hold.
2 to 4 people? 10 or more? Of course, you also have to know if the space you’re considering for your sauna will be big enough.
This leads us to…
Indoors or Outdoors?
If it’s indoors, you’ll need to know that the size of the sauna you want will fit the space you’re considering.
If you want to set up your sauna outdoors, you can assemble it in your front or back yard, patio, or poolside if you have a pool.
Before you consider outdoor placement, check your local building codes first. You may need to obtain a permit before you set up an outdoor sauna.
What Kind Of Kit?
This is something you’ll want to give thought to…
There are pre-cut sauna kits and there are modular sauna kits.
So what’s the difference?
Pre-cut sauna kits include all the necessary components to assemble a full size sauna.
Pre-cut sauna kits cost less than modular sauna kits, but you’ll need to have some handyman skills or you’ll have to hire someone to assemble your sauna.
You’ll have to frame up your own walls and provide your own insulation.
Assembly instructions are included when you purchase, but you’ll still need some moderate carpentry skills or good aptitude for piecing things together.
Modular sauna kits are much easier to assemble than pre-cut kits, but they do cost more as a result.
In addition to being easy to assemble, an advantage they have over pre-cut kits is they’re easy to relocate. If you want to move your sauna to a different spot, piece of cake…
You’ll simply have to detach the panels and then reattach them at the new location.
Pre-cut sauna kits don’t offer that kind of portability.

It’s hard to succeed in MLM without attending the events

Back in March of 2001 I attended my first Network Marketing Convention with AmeriPlan in Chicago. I was a Regional Sales Director with AmeriPlan® and still worked full time as a Rural Letter Carrier at the Post Office. With four kids and a pile of bills, I felt as if the was no way I could attend Convention that year.
Dennis and Daniel Bloom decided to pre-pay for the convention, for anyone who had a monthly residual check to pay it back. Well, I really like the idea of paying it forward and took the Bloom Brothers up on their offer. I made a commitment to attend the Convention, no matter what it took.
My AmeriPlan Sponsor was at the Convention as well as other National Sales Directors. When I heard from the Founders of the Company and the Leaders on stage I started to get the vision. The picture of where AmeriPlan® was heading and the incredible potential anyone had who just grabbed the vision.
It was at that Convention in 2001 that AmeriPlan® took the business to a new level with replicated e-commerce websites for IBOs. Everything was now in place. With the internet anyone could now do business nationwide on the internet.
I knew that if I got enough people looking, the AmeriPlan® Dental Plans would sell themselves. Before long my name was listed in the Top 10 list of signing up members. Then in 2002 Dennis and Daniel came up with the Top Producer’s Trip to the Bahamas Challenge. My wife and I took the trip in Sept 2003 with 25 others who had increased their Residual and Builder’s Bonus by ,000 during the contest.
Being at the Convention in 2001 was the key factor of increasing my business with AmeriPlan®, enabling me to quit the Postal Service after 15 years, become a member of the $75,000 President’s Club and winning six out of six of the Top Producer Trips since 2003.
Best advice is to get to the first management level (RSD) and qualify for the Double Eagle Contest. Do your 10 pieces of business and earn a free convention ticket. Do whatever it takes, but get yourself and your team members to the convention in July. It could be the exact edge you need to excel to the Top.
