Analog versus digital clocks. These are two different kinds of clocks that display exactly the same time. But the question is: why do some people prefer analog clocks over digital clocks still in this modern day?

Analog clocks, with their round faces, although may not be used very much now, still have their uses. Some people prefer these clocks over digitals because they are easier to read. With an analog clock the face of the clock is large and very visible to people who may have a seeing impairment. Elderly people especially would like this clock because of the visibility of it.

Another great aspect of why people prefer this clock is that if there is a blackout then you will not lose time. A lot of digital clocks rely on being plugged into a power point where analogs do not require electricity. They usually run a normal AA size battery. People like this because they are cheap to run and do not add to their power bill.

One important reason why some people choose analog over digital is to teach their children the time. Schools also use these clocks to show the kids how to tell time. Children need to read the time and to do this accurately you need an analog. This helps to show them how to count the hours, the minute and even the seconds. Most schools rely on these clocks for teaching purposes.

Another reason why people may prefer analog clocks is because of the simplicity of them. Analog clocks are quick and easy to read but mostly if you have grown up with this clock you may not like to change.

People also prefer analogs because they are portable. You can move them into any room of the house without having to worry about a power point.

We are moving into a digital world nowadays and for some this may be a little daunting. Even though many may say digital clocks are so much better and easier to work than the analog but some people may not agree with this. It all depends on the individual.
