There are many hundreds of content management systems on the market today which permit you to add different types of content to your internet site. While most internet site operators limit themselves to simply adding text and images, there are in reality 7 differing types you can add.
Text
The most established types of content to add to a site is text. This may be an about us page, a post or an article. When you create text with a page url, page title and page outline, you’ve a very good chance of the page being found by Google when there is little competition.
Images
Adding pictures is perhaps the second most well-liked type of content added to the Net. Whilst adding images is relatively straightforward nowadays, one must consider the image size and resolution. An image which is too large in size takes a long time to download onto a visitors screen and an image with low resolution will look poor and reflect badly on you. There are many tools like Adobe Photoshop which allow you to resize an image without losing image quality and Adobe Business Catalyst easily let you create image galleries for simple viewing.
Documents
Adding word documents or PDF files to your internet site makes it easy for folk to download, print and read articles at their own leisure. Most content management systems allow such documents to be upload. Depending on the privacy or signification of such documents, you need to consider protecting these documents with a password.
Spreadsheets
Spreadsheets are popular amongst accountants, sales executives and research companies. There are a less popular form of content added to a site and one should also consider privacy and the correct formatting so they are straightforward to print and read for the intended user.
Shows
With the upward push of websites such as Linkedin and SlideShare enable, show sharing is becoming extremely popular. You can upload a presentation in SlideShare and then use their inserted code to share your work on your own website or others.
Videos
With web sites like YouTube making video sharing simple and nearly free to host, many business owners now host videos on external web sites and insert the video on their own site saving critical bandwidth speeds.
Music
Adding music to a site should be carefully thought about so as not to frighten or scare a new internet site visitor. The great majority of people don’t expect to hear music when they arrive on a site. So you need to give the internet site visitor the option to turn music on.
