Economically, we’ve entered some rough seas. The ship is also a little leaky, and our money is going out faster than it’s coming in. Well, a lot of people out there have gotten the idea that there’s money to be made on the Internet and they’re right. And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to earn an online income, either. All it takes is a little reading and a desire to make money blogging.
Cyberspace is unimaginably vast, but everything in it moves at literally the speed of light, and blogs and websites come and go with just as much speed. In fact, nearly 200,000 new blogs are being created each day, and most of them are geared towards making money. This should tell you they’re not that hard to create, and there are many different ways to make money off them, all easily found on the Web.
Now that we have an idea of what we’re up against, what should we do first, in terms of dipping our toes in the waters of the Internet “blogosphere?” Generally, the first thing to do is think up something that either interests us personally or that we think will interest others enough to want to know more about it. Something like NASA photography, for example.
Say you’ve decided to run with this topic to use as your blog’s main content theme. All well and good, I’d say. Chances are pretty high that with a total population on the planet of nearly 7 billion people, there are more than enough of them out there who are looking for info about it. And it’s when these people go to Internet search engines and type in words related to it – in order to find out more – that lead to the creation of “keywords.” And it’s these keywords that can turn a blog into a moneymaking machine, if they’re used smartly.
Think of it like this: People go to search engines on the Internet to find information. Eventually, those words they’re typing in, in search of something, turn into good keywords. Enough folks looking for information on wedding planning on a search engine end up generating a lot of good keywords that can be used on a blog, and which will draw traffic (visitors) to it from search engine results.
The trick, of course, will be in searching for and then utilizing enough of the right words that haven’t been milked completely dry by all those other competitors out there, and then getting a blog up that uses those words to gain visitors (“site traffic”). A great thing is that search engines like Google and Yahoo have all the online tools and help you’ll need to learn how to do this, and it’s all free.
Also, there are plenty of online resources (websites, blog hosting sites and the like) that’ll be ready, willing and eager to help you set up a site and show you how to make money online. Most of the time, they’ll host it on their own servers for little or even no cost, and show you how to set it up efficiently and smartly enough to actually make some money off it.
Remember a few things when it comes to setting up a blog: for starters, make sure your blog is easy to move around in. It shouldn’t be confusing to or irritating to any visitors, and that they can also find info on what it is you say you’re talking about or offering on your site. And always make sure there’s more than enough interesting and fresh content on it to attract return visitors.
Blogging in general and is a fun and exciting pastime, and your blog can even be a venue for you to sell products or go on other money-making online projects. So dig in, set up a blog that you can maintain in the long term, and start earning more money than your old day job could ever pay you!
